Make This The Year You Set A New PB!

Raise The Bar

We generally start off every new year feeling revitalised, refreshed and ready to tackle a new set of challenges, be it at home, at work or in the gym.

Sadly, as far as our training and physical goals are concerned, by the time March rolls around most of us would’ve forgotten about our overly ambitious “New Year’s resolutions” and fallen back into our old, unhealthy habits.

To help you rule your resolution and make 2019 the year you deliver your personal best (PB), here’s some advice based on personal experience.

Map your route, enjoy the journey

APPROACH THIS YEAR WITH THE INTENT TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION BY ENRICHING THE JOURNEY. To go beyond the average approach, your physical odyssey needs to be mapped out with intent and pursued with the right mindset.

When chasing physical goals our initial progress in the gym is fast and furious. We see and feel those changes almost immediately, but as time goes by progress slows and our motivation wanes.

When I started strength sports I could easily skip a session or two in the week, steer off my diet and stay out till the sun came up without it effecting me physically. Despite this I continued to improve, until, well. I no longer did.

For me to guide you along this journey and make the attainment of your goals achievable I want to share some of the mistakes I made that prevented me from progressing and hitting those PBs.
