Highlights from this year’s laneway Festival Singapore.
Laneway Festival Singapore saw its seventh iteration at the end of January, and I’m inclined to say it was its best yet. It’s wonderful to see a music festival grow in size and popularity with each edition. We’ve been criticised as having no soul before but if the latest festival held at The Meadow over at Gardens by the Bay was any indication, we’ve certainly grown some. Here are some highlights.
Clear skies, full hearts
We had great weather this year – a pleasant reprieve in the middle of an atypical wet spell on our island. Granted it did get pretty hot, but that only made it feel more like one of those summer music festivals where the atmosphere and crowd sizzled along with the soaring temperature. Yup, the skies were clear and the sun was high, giving us the perfect setting to sit on the lawn sipping ice-cold beer and chilling out to some great tunes with friends. As the sun set, the city skyline became a beautiful backdrop for the later sets.
Beautiful people
