How Tech Has Been Revving Up The Engine Of The Aviation Industry
But just as 2020 has been the worst year the industry could have imagined; it could well prove to be that year where the industry takes a leap in putting technology to use. These pandemic times could well make it the best time yet to accelerate deploying robust technology in the business to bring about cost efficiencies, improve productivity, introduce automation and digitisation, streamline operations and be better prepared for when the demand does return with time.

One such plan in the pipeline for sometime is One ID, a paperless solution that the International Air Travel Association (IATA) has been working on. A biometric recognition driven model, One ID gives passengers an opportunity to further streamline their journey with a document-free process based on identity management. This works perfectly in creating a situation where person-to-person interaction is near a zero, best suiting the present requirements of maintaining minimum contact points for a traveller.
