AC1900 Router with MU-MIMO Back in late May, Linksys officially launched the Max-Stream AC1900 MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router (EA7500), which is also the world’s first AC1900 router with the Multi-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) technology, for the Asia Pacific region. This is a big deal as AC1900 is fast becoming the standard for routers, and MU-MIMO is said to be the next step in Wi-Fi technology.

Kristian A.Anquillano, Regional Product Manager, APeA at Linksys demonstrated the capabilities of the MU-MIMO feature on the EA7500 using multiple smartphones, notebook PCs, and a streaming set-top box.

He showed that when every MU-MIMO compatible devices are connected to the router, each device received a sustained and equal average download connection speed that is stable. To the average user, this means that in a location where multiple devices are connected to a single router, for example in a home, each device will be able to stream content at the same time without disrupting the speeds of other devices.
