Tomatoes have been a kitchen essential, making their way deliciously into any and every culinary creation. Just like food, tomato can blend effortlessly into a beauty regime. Power-packed with skin-friendly ingredients, using it for the face has its benefits. It’s no surprise then that this vegetable is a part of many DIY beauty recipes that are natural and effective.
Tomato can be incorporated in your client’s daily skincare routine. She can either go for its juice or opt for the pulp. Also, it’s a great fit for all skin types. Here’s how it can be used to get the best out of its nutrient powerhouse.
TO REDUCE OILINESS
If your client is tired of blotting on her face and if greasy skin is hampering the health of her skin, suggest the use of tomato on her face. It helps reduce the production of oil by the sebaceous glands and thus combat excessive greasiness. Simply cut a tomato in two halves and rub it all over the face. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing.
TO SEAL IN MOISTURE
Just because it helps reduce oiliness, doesn’t imply that applying tomato will strip the skin off its natural oils. It works as a balancing moisturiser, contributing towards that natural glow. It can be used with aloe vera gel for intense hydration.
