Ruth Langsford tells Woman why she was in no rush to become Eamonn’s wife!
Presenter Ruth Langsford may be half of one of TV’s most enduring double acts, but she’s won a legion of fans in her own right. Here, the outspoken Loose Women panellist explains why she’s no desperate housewife. She also opens up about her health worries for the future, what it’s really like being married to Eamonn Holmes and why she controversially ducked out of that Loose Women body confidence shoot earlier this month.
‘Eamonn and I have been together 21 years this year and married for seven in June. I didn’t feel a desperate need to be married, I wasn’t looking for security because I had security, we had a child together. I’m financially independent so I wasn’t looking for that and I was never a girl who dreamt about her big white wedding. But once we got married it did feel different. It was just as if the final piece of the jigsaw had fallen into place in my life, which was very nice. I’m still a free spirit, but I love being Eamonn’s wife.’
