<p>Yes, I am a fair-weather rider, the kind that waits for the weather to be just right before I dust off the old riding gear and spend those two weeks on the motorcycle, but the Himalayan has me riding, willingly, almost every day. Yes, you do sit a little higher and the wide(r) tank does make you feel a little disconnected from the motorcycle, especially if you are a novice. That said, once you get over this bit, the motorcycle under you is impeccable. It turns with agility, it has more than enough torque low down for standstill traffic and the ride-by-wire throttle responds to micro inputs with confidence.
