DUCATI HAVE CONTINUED WITH THE familiar 1,158-cc V4 Granturismo platform which runs conventional valve springs instead of the traditional Desmodromic system and wide service intervals of 15,000 kilometres for an oil change and 60,000 km for a valve inspection. And despite having to conform to tight Euro 5-plus regulations that necessitated a completely new exhaust system, the Bologna factory has managed to maintain power and torque figures at 170 hp at 10,750 rpm and 124 Nm at 9,000 rpm.
However, the changes do not end there. The updated Granturismo now deactivates its rear bank of cylinders at low speeds as well as when stationary (the current system only deactivates the rears when stationary), further reducing the transfer of engine heat to the rider while improving fuel economy. Ducati have also added a new Wet riding mode, which sits alongside the Touring, Urban, and Sport modes as well as an updated Enduro option. Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO), the predictive electronic control system developed by Ducati Corse MotoGP team that made its début in the 2024 V4 Panigale, also finds its way into the Model Year (MY) 2025 V4 S.
