If you've ever bought or sold a piece of used furniture, you know the hardest part of the transaction is delivLery. That's why Chairish, an 11-year-old used furniture marketplace, has focused its efforts on making the handover seamless-and in doing so, it's made 2024 the year the circular economy for furniture went mainstream.

The home furnishings market is an estimated $800 billion global industry. It's also a "broken" industry, says Gregg Brockway, co-founder and CEO of the San Francisco-based company, because many perfectly good pieces end up in landfills when their owners no longer need them. Online marketplaces generally require sellers to package and ship items themselves, which is not an easy task.
