Taking the form of an intimate spring ceremony, steeped in tradition, elegance and emotion, it was the first royal wedding of the year.
On March 12, shortly before the sun was due to set behind the Jordanian royal family’s private residence — the magnificent Beit Al Urdun Palace in Amman — King Abdullah II and Queen Rania’s eldest daughter, Princess Iman, married Venezuelan financier Jameel Thermiotis.
The bride looked breathtaking in a bespoke Dior wedding gown that featured exquisite lace detail across the fitted bodice, sleeves and high neckline, and was paired with a sweeping train and tulle veil embroidered with flowers.
Carrying a bouquet of scented white freesias, Iman beamed with happiness as her elder brother Crown Prince Al Hussein, 28, wearing a traditional red-and-white chequered keffiyeh, escorted her up a garden aisle lined with trees bursting with white cherry blossom.
The 26-year-old princess’ crowning glory was her dazzling diamond tiara, and as she glided past tall green cypress trees, the diadem’s intricate fringe and feather design sparkled in the early evening sunlight.
Iman’s mother Queen Rania, 52, was also a picture of elegance in a pleated champagne gown from Dior’s Autumn/Winter 2022-23 couture collection, which she teamed with a maxi ring in yellow gold and a diamond bracelet from Fabio Salini Jewelry.
