ELEVATING THE ORDINARY

What happens when a chef who understands the ambiance of a table decides to make his own cutlery, to ensure that the meal’s aesthetic isa story? That’s essentially where Eeshaan Kashyap first made his distinct mark – and turned into an F&B curator, designer, artist, and stylist, bringing together his keen eye for detail and symmetry (his Instagram page can cure a bad day) and his observation of culture and architecture. 2021 saw the multihyphenate launch Tablescape by Eeshaan – his own brand of limited-edition tableware and objects. Entering the world of art and exhibitions, Kashyap held his first exhibit in New Delhi in 2022, where he showcased his love for tableware in mixed media. At present, in collaboration with Bungalow Eight’s founder Maithili Ahluwalia, Kashyap’s second exhibition titled ‘Artist Proof’ has launched in Mumbai this month. We speak to the artist about his passion for food, decor, and the essence of material that evokes emotions on an ordinary day.
