NO SEX, MO' PROBLEMS?

NO SEX, MO' PROBLEMS?

While we were caught up in making our culture more sexpositive, somehow, we progressed and regressed simultaneously. On one side, women being vocal about their sexual needs and wants are applauded, on the other, those of us whose sexual desire isn't in tandem with what the modern times are expecting and who have low libido are often hit with a sense of shame, guilt, and people labelling it as something to 'fix' or 'cure'. In fact, women experiencing a lack of sexual interest is more common than what we might think. A global research conducted by Headspace App and Peanut found that 75% of women have experienced a low sex drive. In a subreddit, TwoXChromosomes, a user, while speaking about why women are shamed for having a low sexual drive, posted saying, "I have a low libido, and I've always thought it was a concern of mine to fix. I went to sex therapy, took pills and vitamins, and even considered taking the O-shot. I felt like I wasn't "normal" and that there was something wrong with me... Sometimes It makes me sad that when a woman mentions she has a low libido, there are people who try to 'fix the issue' when really it isn't an issue." As women, we subsist on a regular diet of societal pressures, myths around our sexuality, and orgasm gaps. So, you need to go beyond the surface to realise that there is more to female desires than what we understand and there's reason why we experience low libido more than our counterpart gender.
