I FIRST HAD the Bisquit & Dubouché in an airport lounge in Jakarta earlier this year. With an hour to burn before boarding a connecting flight, I took a seat by the bar, opened the menu, and selected the drink that I thought had the most interesting name. And thus began my love affair with Bisquit & Dubouché.
It was, in many ways, love at first sip. I had the VSOP, on the rocks a gorgeous amber liquid in my glass. I loved the way it captured the light, but I loved, even more, its complexity, where flavour notes of cocoa and caramel combine with hints of spice, apricot and citrus.
There are many things that inform my love affairs with liquids. I appreciate complex flavours, eye-catching, monolithic bottles and a rich back story. Bisquit & Dubouché has all three.
