The Joy Formidable
August Man SG|Issue 208 (December 2024)
You can have it all. Just ask Pam Anantr, a Thai DJ with a winning sonic signature criss-crossing the global circuit and managing her natural wine bar and interior design practice.
INDRAN PARAMASIVAM
The Joy Formidable

THE SWEET LILT OF Pam Anantr’s voice conceals multitudes. All it gives away is the sheer radiance of her glowing disposition. Once the layers unravel, you will discover her ardent love for the sunnier side of jazz, funk, and disco. Her DJ sets lift spirits as smoothly as she runs her businesses, which include the natural wine bar Salon Kiku, with its killer views of Bangkok, and her architectural and interior design pursuits.

New York-educated, Bangkok-based, and world-destined, Anantr is proof that when you dedicate yourself to the urgings of your muses, you can contribute meaningfully to multiple fields.

How do you find time to fully commit yourself to your various endeavours?

I plan how my time is divided each day. Usually, I reserve the evenings for music, which allows me to work on the business side of things earlier in the day. It can be exhausting. However, since I juggle multiple deadlines at the same time, I cannot be tired for long. It’s tough but manageable.

You got your Master’s degree in New York. I am sure the creative energy there spoke to you profoundly.
