Tell us how incredible was your journey in the cinema industry. From where did it all begin?
MY JOURNEY INTO THE INDUSTRY IS KIND OF LIKE A FAIRYTALE. I WAS 'DISCOVERED' ON THE STREETS OF BANGLORE.IT BEGAN WITH KRISHNA SIR (JILLUNU ORU KADHAL) CASTING ME IN HIS MOVIE AND THAT LED TO THIS ENTIRE JOURNEY. AND THERE WAS NO LOOKING BACK FROM THERE!
Did you face any initial challenges in the industry? If so, what are your takeaways from it?
I still face difficulties in the industry. I still think I'm a struggling actor. Everything that entails this title, I deal with regularly in my life. There was a time in my life, not too many years ago when I had budgeted my daily food expense to 100 rupees per day.
Your performance in Nna Thaan Case Kodu was real, raw and authentic to the role. What excited you to choose this political satire script?
I loved the cleverness of the script! How it's a political satire but it's far from preachy. Even the comedy is very clever! Apart from all this, my character was challenging. Devi is a complex character that lives by her own definition of what a family is, of what a partner means to her and of justice. And that is the driving force for Rajeevan (Chackochan) throughout the film. She has all the progressive qualities that we usually assign to characters in urban settings but is packaged as a small-town girl with a really humble livelihood.
How was your experience as a debutant in Malayam industry? Do you think there is any difference in work style between Kollywood and Mollywood industries?
