PERIOD crime drama Grantchester has been such a smash hit in America that the star of the show, Robson Green, says he now knows how it feels to be Taylor Swift.
Ahead of the ninth series, Robson has revealed that he and his new co-star Rishi Nair, who plays vicar Alphy Kotteram, were mobbed by Grantchester fanatics in Las Vegas last summer, saying they went "bonkers".
He said: "Rishi and I went to a press launch of Grantchester and were expecting about 100 people tops. But about 2,000 super-fans turned up.
"It was like being at a Taylor Swift concert - it was so surreal." But Robson, 60, loved getting to know the US fans, who watch the ITV show on Masterpiece on PBS.
