They added: "Physical and mental health rehabilitation probably increases the proportion of patients who experience recovery or important improvements." But Dr Daniel Munblit, of King's College London, said: "Research did not find compelling evidence to support other interventions, including various medications, dietary supplement and other therapies." The international study examined 24 trials involving 3,695 patients, looking at how well various treatments worked.Separate research published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine found long Covid can more than double a patient's cost to the NHS.The spends £704.80 a year per patient, up from the £293.60 on their pre-virus healthcare needs.
