CATALANS boss Steve McNamara insists he never feared for his job but admitted: "We needed to make changes."

The Dragons have arguably delivered the most impressive pre-season recruitment of any Super League club.

They have brought former Australia stand-off Luke Keary from Sydney Roosters, ex-England second-row Elliott Whitehead back from Canberra and prolific St Helens and England winger Tommy Makinson.

But the French club, who missed out on the play-offs for the first time in four years, pulled off a real coup with the capture of Dolphins' NRL powerhouse Tevita Pangai Jr.
