WPI inflation eases to 1.89% in Nov as food prices soften

INFLATION BASED ON the wholesale price index (WPI) eased to a three-month low of 1.89% in November from 2.36% in October, thanks to a sharp fall in the prices of key food items such as vegetables and pulses, official data released on Monday showed.

Among the categories, primary articles (containing food items) inflation ebbed to a three-month low of 5.49% in November from 8.09% in October, and that of fuel & power fell to (-)5.83% from (-)5.79%.
