Announcing these after the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the government has approved the launching of the NMNF as a standalone Centrally sponsored scheme under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare with a total cost of ₹2,481 crore with the Central share of ₹1,584 crore and the state's share of ₹897 crore till the 15th Finance Commission (2025-26).
