LATICS JUST GET THE JOB DONE!

OLDHAM Athletic manager Micky Mellon admitted he had no interest in his side being entertaining following this rather dull affair Dagenham & Redbridge at Boundary Park.

LATICS JUST GET THE JOB DONE!

In a game of few chances, it was Mike Fondop - so often Latics' go-to man this season - who settled it, on 20 minutes, after poor Dagenham defending and even worse goalkeeping allowed him to nod in from close range.

Two red cards late on at least kept the 5,651 crowd on their feet but after two long journeys to Sutton and Maidenhead this week, Mellon was making no excuses for simply getting the job done.

"I wasn't trying my best to be part of the entertainment society today," Mellon told The NLP with his side sitting fifth in the table with just two defeats all season.

"Coming here today, we've had three games in seven days with two big journeys, I thought just win and finish a tough week well. Win, and let's get out of here."
