Young defender Zac Jeanes, 18, has been snapped up by the Swansea City Academy despite playing just one first-team start at Worthing.

Jeanes was a regular for the Rebels’ under-18’s side, and featured on the bench for the first team on numerous occasions.

Now, after a pre-season trial in south Wales, he has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with an option of an additional 12 months, keeping him with the Swans until June 2026.

“Zac had been brought to my attention whilst he was at Worthing,” Swansea’s head of academy recruitment Paul Compton said of the former Horsham YMCA player.
