These tips will help you better manage your time for that dream celebration.
SET A DATE
Once he’s put a ring on it and the excitement’s settled down, it’s time to get back to reality. One of the first things to confirm is your wedding date. With that done, you can start asking friends and other potential guests to save the date.
If you have a full-time job and deadlines to meet, you should also tell your boss when you're getting married, and that you will need to ask for time off on dates closer to your big day. This is very important if you don't want it to interfere with any of your official responsibilities.
If you’re not in a rush to tie the knot, give yourself a year or more to plan the wedding. A local hotel sales manager advises booking your venue at a wedding show. This tends to offer more perks. Another tip: having the wedding a year or two following your engagement gives you more time to space out your plans.
KNOW WHAT YOU WANT
With all the pretty #weddinginspo pictures out there, it’s hard not to want the biggest, prettiest, most romantic wedding of the year. Discuss your priorities with your fiance, and pick the ones that matter the most.
