Packing a 1-2 combo of strength and beauty
WINTER IS AT ITS END AND HOT SUMMER DAYS WILL SOON ABOUND. In the meantime, why not heat things up with Jessica Lovett, our new Muscle Evolution Babe, who is a gorgeous, self-confessed exercise junkie who can quite easily punch your lights out! Strength and beauty – just what we like...
How did you get involved in the fitness scene?
I come from a family of boxers, so training has always been part and parcel of my life. My dad Aubrey owned a boxing club in the south of Johannesburg. In 2015 I finally decided to stop doubting and start doing, and that was when I entered my first show. I liked it so much that I competed in another one two weeks after that. I believe goals can only be reached once you go for them!
What areas do you want to improve on and why?
My arms. I think they're my most stubborn muscle group. I give them extra attention. As a competitor I'm never satisfied as there is always room for improvement!
Where did you go to for advice when you first started out?
My brother, Jared, who is a boxer. He used to help me train, but as I got older I started doing my own research to find what worked best for my body.
So, can you throw a mean punch?
Only if you get on the wrong side of me.
What are your favourite exercises?
I love training legs and shoulders. My favourites are lateral raises and cable kickbacks.
What has been one of your biggest challenges on the road to success?
