GQ South Africa|October - November 2023
From his breakthrough single 'Gusheshe' to the iconic 'Doc Shebeleza,' Cassper Nyovest stands in a league of his own. Beyond record sales, filling up stadiums and chart-topping hits; he's a savvy businessman with numerous successful ventures and standout brand partnerships, both locally and internationally

I FELT COMPELLED TO EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE TO CASSPER NYOVEST WHEN OUR VIDEO CALL BEGAN. During my previous long train commutes to work, he became a metaphorical companion, particularly through his song 'Bentley Coupe' from his third album Thuto. This track never fails to uplift my mood and helps me envision the life I aspire to achieve. In the crowded morning train I'd feel like I'm riding in a Bentley Coupe with Mufasa. His incredibly infectious self-assurance has undeniably made a deep impression on countless lives, not just mine. It was absolutely imperative for me to share this with him.

'I get that a lot, but I appreciate it every time I hear it. And every time it feels like the first time because when we create art or music, we hope that it will touch someone. That's something you can't force on anyone; they have to be genuinely listening with that type of ear, he responds.

Music has an extraordinary power to transform lives by connecting to emotions on a profound level. It can provide solace during challenging times, offering a source of comfort and understanding when words fall short. For some, music serves as a driving force, igniting their burning passion to pursue dreams and overcome obstacles.

"The owner of Drip, Lekau Sehoana, was a fan at 'Fill up the Dome, and he was wearing my T-shirt. He had all these failing businesses at the time, but he was holding on to his dreams. Fast forward to the present; he and I own a business together, which is one of my most successful businesses, says Nyovest.
