Over the past year, walking has become a favourite activity for many of us. If you’re a regular walker, you’ve probably already noticed how good it can make you feel – all that fresh air and exercise can really boost your energy and mood.

And it can also form an essential part of your regular fitness routine. According to NHS guidelines, adults aged 19 to 64 should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity every week – and walking is an ideal way to get that.

Only around 35% of us hit that target. But there are so many health benefits to regular walking – especially if you learn to do it properly. Here are some ways to turn your daily walk into a real workout...
