The Friends stars are rallying around the struggling actor

Despite their TV show’s famous theme song being The Rembrandts’ I’ll Be There For You, the men of Friends admit they haven’t always been a huge support to each other.

Ahead of their blockbuster reunion, David Schwimmer admitted he lost touch with his co-stars, given that Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc live in Los Angeles while he’s in New York, adding that his female co-stars – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow – have remained close.

But after coming back together to film their HBO special, which aired late last week, David, 54, and Matt, 53, were so “distressed” by the state of Matthew that they’ve sworn to rally around him.

And no one is happier about their renewed desire to help than Jen, 52, who has long tried to steer her friend in the right direction.

“He’s a mess, and everyone can see it,” says a source.

“David in particular was stunned by how much he’s aged and apparently deteriorated. Matt and David feel duty-bound to get him the professional help he needs.”
