Bad Sisters returns for a second series with the Garvey siblings in the spotlight again after the dismembered body of JP's father turns up

The Garvey sisters may have rid themselves of an abusive brother-in-law, but their troubles are far from dead and buried as Bad Sisters returns for series two.

Sharon Horgan’s black comedy was a major hit for Apple TV+ last year, following siblings Eva, Ursula, Bibi and Becka as they attempt to kill their sister Grace’s manipulative husband JP.

Two years on, the new series opens with Grace remarrying and her sisters moving on with their lives, but when the dismembered body of JP’s father turns up, the Garveys are back on the police’s radar.

“Season two is all about secrets,” reveals Eve Hewson, who plays the youngest sister Becka. “They don’t stay buried for long, and the past resurfaces in unexpected ways. If season one was about saving Grace, this season is definitely about seeking justice for her.”

While the cast were raring to return, series two’s opening scenes were nearly derailed by Storm Ciarán, which ravaged the show’s set on the southern coast of Ireland last year. Anne-Marie Duff, who stars as Grace, says, “One day it could’ve been Antigua – the sun was shining and the sea was calm – and the next day we were practically in the middle of a hurricane.

“It was a slightly terrifying experience, given that the marquee looked like it might be hanging on by a thread. The storm tested our limits but also brought us closer. There’s a unique bond formed when you’re literally weathering the storm together.”
