After a year of challenges, obstacles and hurt, it's no wonder Georgia Steel worships the sanctuary she calls home. The Love Island star has gone through a public break-up and suffered horrendous backlash -including death threats after appearing on the All Stars version of the show back in January.
But, thankfully now she's in a much more settled place - and a big part of that is thanks to her three-storey, four-bedroom house in Yorkshire.
"My home is now my little safe space," she exclusively tells OK! when we take a tour around her gorgeous abode. "I love having the girls around but I can be finicky about boys."
For 26-year-old Georgia - who calls herself a "controversial character" - creating a tranquil haven where she can block out the noise is a non-negotiable. And, after first purchasing the property back in 2021, she's finally made it her home.
"I was 19 when I first did Love Island [in 2018] and I said from day one that my goal was to get on the property ladder. I had rented before but I knew I always wanted that stability. Plus, it's a new build and I'm a bit of a germaphobe - I loved that no one had ever sat on my toilet seat before!
"At first I was looking at London but my parents sat me down and suggested I look at York. It's where I grew up and I feel comfortable here, I can go about my daily life without any anxiety. People don't really come up to me here. I'm not too far from my family, which was important after Love Island.
If I'm away for work or on holiday, for example, my dad can pop over to cut the grass," she laughs.
Georgia first bought her home when she was just 23. It includes an "extravagant" cinema room that cost more than she cares to admit - "I probably could have bought a flat, let's put it that way," she says, looking embarrassed.
But, following the backlash she received on the show, Georgia decided to move back in with her parents for a bit.
